Dear CYP,
Regarding the "mystery" film clip, I am one of the kids
in the clip along with Brian Leslie, Pete Scott, Kevin from the Inch and a boy
we called "Gemmill" after the Scotland international of the time,
on account of his hairy legs!
I will forever be indebted to the CYP workers and the dedication they showed at what was a very difficult time in our young lives. We were not an easy bunch of kids to deal with and most of us were very angry and not afraid to show it - a bit lost really!
I especially remember Father Graham, Mike Tait, Rose and Stuart.
I cannot believe you are still there, you must have the skin of a rhino!
We didn't really have much to do but look for trouble and we found plenty - I think the best thing was finding people who would actually listen to us and of course the Monday club was the highlight of my week at that time. It's amazing what you have done from that one tiny room off the Cowgate where we started, to the facilities you have now.
Thank you for your time, it really made a big difference and I really feel proud of what you have achieved.
Many thanks,
G. D. Dempsey
